The team of the Birkle-Klinik includes three internal psychologists. They are experts in the area of psychological distress and disorders, motivation building, patient education, and health promoting measures. They work with epistemological paradigms and models, as well as with psychological concepts, such as the biopsychosocial model (BPS), short-term psychotherapy and psychological assessment, salutogenic orientation and resources, models of empowerment of self-confidence, orientation and motivation.
Our internal psychologists support the patient in the process of coping with his or her physical condition as well as everyday stress factors. They are the contact for patient and family counseling and psychological education. They integrate thematic extensions, such as mindfulness and relaxation, the search for meaning, preventive and protective factors, and patient autonomy. In the context of regularly scheduled open group discussions and seminars, they will cover topics such as sleeping problems, stress management, pain management, smoking cessation, eating behavior, and memory training treats.
