GENERAL INFORMATION

The Birkle-Klinik's Department of Orthopedics admits patients within the scope of follow-up therapies (AHB) and classic traditional therapies. All orthopedic and trauma surgery require follow-up therapies.

Musculoskeletal pain syndromes are treated mostly with conservative therapies. The patients will undergo an initial examination by the responsible physician after they have been admitted to the clinic. Within the scope of this examination, the physician and the patients will decide on the goal of the therapy.

There will be weekly medical visits by the ward physician as well as the chief or senior physician. Within the scope of that visit, the physicians and their teams will consult with the responsible rehabilitation team. These consultation meetings serve to discuss an appropriate treatment plan according to the prescribed therapies. If needed, the therapies will be adjusted relative to the current condition of the patients.

The patients are primarily treated within the scope of postoperative care, following for example a total joint replacement, implantation of shoulder endoprostheses, total hip replacement, total knee and ankle endoprostheses. We care for you until you have fully recovered.

We also provide rehabilitation care by way of extended treatment(s) following injuries sustained in accidents. Care is provided in compliance with the occupational statutory accident insurance and prevention regulations (BGSW).

Back pain patients are treated with an individually designed multimodal treatment program. Central to the therapy is a rating based program according to the recent diagnosis, exercise, and sports therapy. Patients with both chronic back pain, as well as patients with acute symptomatology, for example, in the context of conservative therapy for herniated disc, will find appropriate treatment at the Birkle-Klinik.

With us you are in good hands after having had a spinal surgery. At the Birkle-Klinik you can expect to be cared for by a well-trained orthopedic physio team that carefully balances the strengthening excercises prescribed and postoperative load-bearing capacity, to stabilize the result of the surgery without compromising your recovery.

The Birkle-Klinik also offers the so-called intensive rehabilitation after soft tissue surgeries of the musculoskeletal system, e.g., after cruciate ligament replacements, rotator cuff, Bankart repair, etc.
